FREMONT — When DeeAnn Lento and Danyelle Lantz celebrated the grand opening of Hometown Hub On Point Wellness on Nov. 16, they weren’t introducing a new business. Instead, they announced the newest location for the nutrition club they’ve owned for 12 years.
Hometown Hub is the rebranded On Point Wellness, previously located at other sites in Fremont and Port Clinton. The new location, on East State Street, will give the owners more opportunity to connect with the public and network with organizations in town that can help them fulfill their mission to walk alongside local residents on their health journeys.
“We offer healthy meal replacement shakes, energy drinks and healthy snack alternatives,” Lento said.
But Hometown Hub is more than just a store that sells nutritional products. This is a place to find encouragement and connection.
The food store offers weight loss challenges, workouts
We do weight loss challenges and have accountability groups. “We offer zoom training and in-person training at local parks,” Lento said. In this small place, we do a lot. We wanted a central location where people could see us and where we could network to find places to do workouts and fitness camps in the community.
Although Hometown Hub is a nutrition club, anyone can stop by to grab something from their menu, which includes shakes, smoothie bowls, hot oatmeal, waffles, teas and iced coffees.
Anyone can come in and buy something, but we can also do custom meal plans and 21-day challenges. According to Lento, you can do anything for 21 days, and it will create healthy habits and help you jumpstart your goals.
The Lantzs’ first introduction to business came through a 21-day challenge. By the end, he had lost 40 pounds.
Lento said he got crazy results and wanted to share it with others, so he locked arms with me and promoted it together.
Lento’s father supports the shop behind the counter
Lentos’ father, Ed Farson, can often be seen behind the counter making shakes and waffles for customers. He has been with Lento since the beginning and works as a personal trainer.
Lento said he is our number one supporter.
Michelle Rothfelder has been training with Farson and purchasing Lento products for over a year. He joined the nutrition club because he wanted to improve his health.
Ed is a blast. I was looking for answers, for really positive and motivating people. I found it here, Rothfelder said. Because of this, I became more confident and outgoing.
Rathfelder is among the many customers who have turned to Hometown Hub for help.
We definitely provide everything you need to live a healthy lifestyle. “We offer nutrition products, a support system and one-on-one coaching,” Lento said. You could go there for a good coffee or a good tea, but it was so much more. We have many tools you can use to reach your health goals.
