The much-anticipated arrival of KC Market’s new Palm Beach County location is getting closer after the kosher grocer was briefly delayed by construction.
The store is currently taking shape in a 40,000-square-foot building formerly occupied by the Village Square Publix near the corner of Woolbright Road and MilitaryTrail. This new location in Golf, just west of Boynton Beach, is about four times the size of the original Hollywood store.
And though the market’s owner, Joseph Gopin, had hoped to open in October or November, the goal now is to open by the end of December, bringing a wide selection of kosher groceries and freshly prepared foods to the Boynton Beach area.
He said: All contractors are fully employed. “In construction, there are a lot of unpredictable things that come up, but from the looks of it, it doesn’t look like we should have any problems until the end of the year.”

Favorites moved from the Hollywood KC Market site to the Palm Beach County location
Gopin said the new KC Market will have everything found at the original Hollywood location: a full deli, a bakery, a salad bar and a produce selection, along with fresh pastries, sushi and hummus. The flagship store also offers a new line of smoked, baked and pickled fish. Buyers can expect to find the same offerings in the new market.
The new KC Market will also take advantage of its larger location, introducing a full pharmacy, a selection of fresh-made pizzas and a Judaica section, in addition to two full-service restaurants.
The restaurants are expected to open at a later date, after the market’s initial launch, and each restaurant, one for meat and one for dairy, will have its own space and entrance, keeping them separate and compliant with kosher rules.
“It’s going to be a beautiful store and we’re going to have a lot to offer,” Gopin said.

KC Market fans have been taking to social media for updates, and others, unaware of the store’s recent construction delays, have arrived at the new location expecting a grocery store only to find work in progress.
Karen Cohen, a New York resident who often visits South Florida in the winter, was among those who went to the KC Inlet market this week.
“I’m used to very large kosher supermarkets in New York,” he said. “It’s really amazing for us.”
