DSI crackdown on counterfeit dietary supplement warehouse in Chon Buri costing more than 10 million baht

The Directorate of Special Investigations (DSI) raided a warehouse In the center of Chon Buri Storage of adulterated food supplements for humans and petscaused damage of more than 10 million baht.

The raid came in response to Thailand being closely watched by the US Trade Representative (USTR) for intellectual property rights violations, stemming from tips about the illegal sale of supplements through popular online platforms.

These supplements, once taken, can lead to dangerous side effects, making this a significant health concern.

Following this lead, DSI discovered a group that was discreetly selling counterfeit goods under the guise of genuine products at factory prices. Products were stored and sold in Chon Buri. According to KhaoSod, on October 5, DSI officers, armed with a court warrant, searched a warehouse of dog supplements marked with counterfeit trademarks imitating the Antinol brand.

The search led to the discovery of counterfeit trademarked goods at the address, 29/65 Ban Suan 1 Alley, Ban Suan Sub District, Mueang District, Chon Buri.

Items found included veterinary drugs to treat inflammation, dog and human supplements, and other items such as speakers and various items with counterfeit trademarks.

These trademarks have been registered by other people in this country. Other brands were also discovered, totaling more than 10,000. The market value or cost of the damage was more than 10 million baht (US$270,709). Authorities seized the items as evidence.

The defendants were charged with offering for sale and possessing goods with counterfeit trademarks of other persons registered in the Kingdom or buying or receiving any goods that did not pass customs procedures.

In order to protect consumers and prevent and suppress illegal activities, DSI sends a letter to the aforementioned online sales platform to cooperate in inspecting and notifying the sale of infringing products in the future.
