Brownie Points selling kosher treats at Cleveland Browns Stadium

For Cleveland Browns fans, the catchphrase “Here we go Brownies” now takes on a double meaning.

Starting this season, Columbus-based Brownie Points will sell its products at every game at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Owned by sister-in-law and Ohio residents Lisa Berliner and Lisa King, the partnership came together quickly after a pop-up session at TENSPACE in Columbus, King told the Cleveland Jewish News. The contract is for three years.

We did TENSPACE in April through June, and by the end of May, it was underway,” King said. As a favor to us, Rachel Friedman, who owns TENSPACE, sent our brownies to the top of the Browns. We received an email the same day and a call was made for the next day. Within a week, we were building a partnership.

Berliner and King live in New Albany, a suburb of Columbus, with their families and are members of Chabad Columbus in New Albany.

King, a former elementary school teacher at Gross Schechter Day School in Pepper Pike, started the company in the kitchen of his Cleveland apartments in the early 1990s and sold it after moving to Columbus in the late 1990s. He later took it back, reopened Brownie Points, and brought in his sister-in-law, who was working as an insurance executive at the time.

King says getting their brownies into the hands of Cleveland Browns fans has always been a dream.

“We know and love the Browns, and being Browns fans, we knew what to do,” King said. Our brownie emojis were large, which are like brown emoticons. They have different cut brownies and that made it fun for us. So, for this, we have a dog bone, jersey, a football, and an official Cleveland Browns Crunch brownie. And they all taste incredible.

Cleveland Browns Crunch Brownie is a classic chocolate brownie with a caramel center topped with crushed peanut butter sticks. This is the first brownie flavor that King created, which holds a very special place in my heart,” said King.

He said it was the first flavor that everyone loved globally.

Brownie Points is also certified kosher by Buckeye Kosher of Columbus. While she doesn’t keep kosher, King said Brownie Points has always been and always will be a way for everyone to enjoy this sweet treat.

“I’ve made that decision since the day Brownie Points was created,” King said. We have never been kosher. It has been like that since day one. For me, this feeling is important. It also makes it an advantage and that is also important to us.

Customers who are unable to log in to try Brownie Points can order branded products online at browniepointsinc.com, but they must live in north or central Ohio, King said. He explained that since it’s a branded partnership, they can’t infringe on other NFL markets. A list of approved cities, counties and zip codes is available at bit.ly/46wV6jU.

The online package, Cleveland Brownies Dawg Pound, contains 10 Baby Brownies, five of which are Cleveland Brownies Crunch flavors. Four brownie brownies, which are brownies dipped in ganache and cream cheese and dipped in chocolate. And two brownie emojis.

“We think the Browns are the best, so we wanted to give the fans the best when they see us in the stadium,” King said. It is right in line with the branding of the team. It all screams Cleveland Browns. We are also season ticket holders. It was all so much fun
